The Rev. Jennie Barrett Siegal
Senior Pastor

Jennie Barrett Siegal has served as the Senior Pastor of Old South Union Church since July 1, 2013. Prior to that, she served for six years as our Associate Pastor. Jennie truly enjoys her ministry to and with our church family. She has a particular passion for helping people discover their God-given gifts and empowering them to use those gifts for the good of the church and the transformation of the world. She loves working with colleagues and lay leaders, crafting worship services and Bible studies, leading mission trips and service opportunities. But most of all, her ministry is rooted in the knowledge that we are all God’s beloved, with all of our strengths and successes, as well as our faults and failures. God loves us ALL — and that love not only changes our lives, it changes the world.

Jennie is a graduate of Vassar College and received her Master of Divinity degree from Harvard Divinity School. Before coming to Old South Union Church, she completed her first two years of ordained ministry as a Pastoral Resident at Wellesley Congregational Church in Wellesley, MA. Jennie is originally from Rochester, NY, where she was born and raised. She grew up in a large United Methodist Church, where she first experienced God’s call to the ministry. During the ordination process, however, she found her home in the United Church of Christ.

Jennie has a fourteen-year-old yellow lab named Vegas, who has become a champion napper in her old age. Jennie enjoys reading and cooking, and she loves to make use of the home gym she created during the pandemic. She also takes inspiration from Vegas and enjoys a good Sunday afternoon nap! You can reach Jennie at jennie@osuchurch.org.

The Rev. Brian Craig
Associate Pastor

Brian Craig became the Associate Pastor at Old South in October 2021. Before joining OSU, he served as a Resident Chaplain at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL. Brian has a passion for youth ministry and loves the Youth Group at OSU! Brian enjoys helping people connect the Bible to their everyday life, listening to people’s stories, and serving the local community.

Brian is originally from Lisbon Falls, Maine. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Youth Ministry and Biblical Studies from Gordon College in Wenham, MA and a Masters of Divinity in 2016 from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, MA.

For fun, Brian enjoys hiking, riding his bike, watching the Red Sox at Fenway, and kayaking in the summer. Brian also loves karaoke and enjoys pretending to be a rockstar on the karaoke stage. You can reach Brian at brian@osuchurch.org.

Kathleen O’Donoghue
Sunday School Director

Kathleen joined the ministry staff as our Sunday School Director in August 2022. She brings with her over 40 years of family ministry experience and a deep interest in family faith formation. In addition to her work at OSU, she is a hospice chaplain and believes that both areas of her work reflect her love of providing a radical hospitality to others. Kathleen completed her ministry training at North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago and considers Chicago her second home. She is the biological parent of two adult children who live in Chicago and is presently the guardian of a teenager who lives with her in Bridgewater. She and her partner Jeannie are delighted to be part of this welcoming church family.
Kathleen looks forward to talking with you about how we are all involved in the faith formation of the children of Old South Union Church.

Ed Broms
Music Director

Dubbed a “Renaissance Man” by the Boston Globe and described as a “Musician’s Musician” by colleagues, Ed Broms is a mainstay of the Music community in New England and a multi-instrumentalist (piano, pipe organ, Hammond organ, electric bass, voice, guitar, percussion).  He performs across the spectrum of genres, drawing on an expansive knowledge of repertoire and performance practices spanning the globe and the centuries. Equally at home on stage with Blue Man Group, or the choir loft of a cathedral, he seamlessly combines a multitude of influences and experiences into one unique voice, no matter the culture or instrument at hand. A constant devotion and unflagging passion for all things Music have led him on a life long journey toward understanding what makes great music tick; and understanding why people love the music they cherish.

Ed is thrilled to join the community and choir of Old South Union Church as Music Director!
