Our confirmation program is open to teens whose families are part of Old South Union Church as well as young people who might be searching for a church home. Most of our class participants are 9th graders, but we often have 10th, 11th, and 12th graders who weren’t able to participate during their freshman year of high school. The program is co-led by Rev. Brian and Rev. Jennie along with some amazing adult mentors. Our confirmation classes are heavily discussion-based with small-group conversations and activities. In addition to the content that is covered in each class, we place a high value on providing the confirmands with a positive experience of church and a safe environment in which to begin asking questions of faith.
Confirmation meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:15 p.m., running weekly from early January through the end of April (with weeks off for school vacations).
